The board experiences high numbers of 'spam' type registration applications from folk who could be described as 'morons' - but that would be unkind to genuine morons!
To combat that I turn off the Registration process and when a genuine members wishes to register I turn it back on again - as I did in your case!
I leave on the Registration feature for 24 hours and then turn it off again to avoid being inundated with idiot applications.
